The All Blacks perform Ka Mate before a match against France in November 2006

The Haka is a traditional dance from the maori of new zealand.

The dance is particulary using before sport matches and specialy for the rugby

The most famous dance is Ka Mate performed by the All Black and composed as a celebration of life over death.

This is the lyrics :

Ka mate, ka mate! ka ora! ka ora!                     its death! its death! its life! its life!

Ka mate! ka mate! ka ora! ka ora!                     its death! its death! its life! its life!

Tēnei te tangata pūhuruhuru                             This is the hairy man

Nāna nei i tiki mai whakawhiti te rā                   Who brought the sun and caused it to shine

Ā, upane! ka upane!                                         A step upward, another step upward!

Ā, upane, ka upane, whiti te ra!                        A step upward, another... the Sun shines!
